On September 11, 2001, a group of terrorists attacked
the United States with a determination to change the American
Spirit. And it did. In the days and months following September
11th, our country saw a surge of patriotism like it has never
seen before. As American citizens we were bound and determined
that nothing or no one was going to break our borders and
dampen our spirits.
Within hours of
the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks there were
American Flags flying everywhere. They flew from peoples
houses and apartments and they flew from their cars, trucks
and bicycles. Monuments dedicated to the victims, the
firefighters, the police officers and paramedics could be
found at every turn. It was for weeks that you could search
every department store and couldn't find a flag. That same
spirit still rings true today over a year later.
This section of
the Cointown website is devoted to that spirit. Look over the
following items and maybe you will find something that will
help you to 'never forget'. Maybe a Statehood Quarter Display
to hang on your wall or a commemorative bill to keep in your
wallet. Or maybe just visiting this page will help you
remember the day that America was changed forever. If that's
