The U. S. Mint first issued Prestige Proof Sets in 1983 and suspended production after 1997. Each set contains a Proof Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, Kennedy Half Dollar as well as a Commemorative Coin or Coins.
These sets were made each year from 1983 to 1997 with the exception of 1985.
